Acts
The project aims to introduce the new Anti-discrimination act, which transposes EU non-discrimination legislation, namely Directive 2000/43/EC of 29 June 2000 implementing the principle of equal treatment between persons irrespective of racial or ethnic origin and Directive 2000/78/EC of 27 November 2000 establishing a general framework for equal treatment in employment and occupation to specific target groups (employees of the equality body, judges, attorneys and lawyers, police, state administration officials, representatives of NGOs and unions, representatives of media and business sector, representatives of regional and local authorities and general public).

Also, the project aims to create a network between domestic experts and European experts, thus transferring examples of good practice into domestic context and ensuring shared understanding between Croatian and European experts. Furthermore, the proposed project promotes the value and the principle of non-discrimination, which in itself has twofold value. Firstly, it is a principal behind all other human rights, and it is a right in itself. In such a way the project is promoting one of the fundamental values of the European Union.

The success of the project can be measured in terms of an increase in the number of detected cases of discrimination, of prosecuted cases, and victims assisted by the equality body.
